Years building for the web
Senior Website Developer & Ecommerce Growth Specialist, Director at Nexsage. I build websites and stores, get them found, and wire up the follow-up that turns visitors into enquiries.

I started as a developer. What kept happening was that I would build a good site and then watch it sit there — because nobody had set up the listings, or the ads were pointed at the wrong keywords, or enquiries arrived at 9pm and got answered on Monday.
So I learned the next thing along, then the next. Marketplaces, because clients kept asking. Paid search, because the traffic had to come from somewhere. Local search and automation, because that is where the leaks were. Seven disciplines is not a boast — it is what the work kept requiring.
Directly with the person making decisions. Fixed scope, written down, so nobody is guessing what "done" means. Regular updates on something you can click rather than a status report. And a proper handover at the end, because a client who could leave and chooses not to is a better relationship than one who is stuck.
I will also tell you when a piece of work is not worth doing. That costs me the occasional invoice and saves a lot of awkward conversations three months later.
Independent retailers and ecommerce brands, trades and home services, agencies who need a technical pair of hands, and founders who are doing everything themselves and need one thing taken off the pile.
Alongside freelance work I hold a directorship, where the same disciplines get delivered at team scale rather than solo. If your project needs more hands than one person has, that is the route.
